The School of Life Sciences at Henan University was established in 1987. After three decades of tenacious efforts, the School currently has research platforms and academic institutes, including State Key Laboratory of Cotton Biology, Ministry of Education-Henan Province Collaborative Key Laboratory of Plant Stress Biology, Center of Henan Crop Adversity Improvement，Henan Joint International Research Laboratory of Global Change Ecology, Henan Joint International Research Laboratory of Biomedical and Nanoparticle Technologies, Mammary Gland Bioreactor and Cell Engineering Laboratory, Plant Germplasm Resources and Genetic Engineering Laboratory, Institute of Neurobiology and Institute of Microbial Engineering of Henan University. The school has established a stimulating research system from macro to micro scale, at the levels of molecular, cell, individual and community. The school boasts many high-level talents, including the Changjiang Scholar of the Ministry of Education, the winner of National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars and Youth One-Thousand-Talents Scheme Scholar. The school conducts research in the forefront of life sciences: genetic improvement of crops and adaptation to adversity, global change and agricultural ecological security, agriculture and disease microbiology and its technology, evolutionary biology and bioarchaeology.
Henan University has been selected as one of the Double First Class Initiative universities in 2017, and Biology has been selected as the fist-class discipline. To promote the scientific innovation and the social advancement, the school of life sciences is actively seeking collaborations with researchers around the world, and invites applications for tenure-track/tenured faculty positions at all ranks in all relevant areas of Biology (including but not limited to Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Cell Biology, Developmental Biology, Neurobiology, Entomology, Phytopathology, Bioinformatics), Ecology and Biomedicine. An ideal candidate will receive an annual salary of 50-150 thousand dollars, which will be commensurate with academic levels. In addition, the employed talents will also be supported by research assistants and independent research laboratories or studios if necessary.
